This collection contains posters designed by graphic designer and educator, Tom Eckersley, for the London College of Printing, now the London College of Communication. Combining practice with education, Eckersley was one of the foremost poster designers and graphic communicators of the twentieth century.
Joining the College in 1954, he established the first undergraduate courses in graphic design in Britain. Whilst at the College, he also designed posters to keep staff and students informed.
Eckersley retained copies of many of his posters and examples of his original artwork, using these in teaching, as well as for personal reference.
You can view the full collection of digitised posters on the Tom Eckersley Collection page. You can find out more about Eckersley and the collection held in the University Archives and Special Collections Centre on the UAL Archives Catalogue.
