35mm colour slide of degree show installation of three paintings in varying mediums and styles hung on white walls.

The right and central paintings are by Alex Pemberton.

Identified by former student and artist Alex Pemberton, with the following note "The paintings were all in oil on canvas. The paintings from life were made in the life studio which was modelled on the tradition at the Slade where a pose was set up for 2-3 months or more. The model for picture with the black background and white mattress (image 4) got ill during that pose so missed several weeks and it lasted from January to May eventually.

The idea for the life painting with 2 models (image 105) was based on a Titian painting, the Allegory of Divine and Profane Love. There were also problems with the models’ health but usually one of them was there so we could continue the work. The system was very generous to us – up to 4 or 5 models between about 12-15 students. Myles Murphy in particular helped to maintain that practice – he became head of painting in my last year. The landscape painting in image 105 won first prize in the Magnolia Landscape painting prize earlier in 1981."
