A folder containing typed notes on dying different types of fabric.

At the front on the folder is a large piece of headed paper titled 'Department of Textiles' which has indigo dying instructions from Sawyer's teacher period. There is five A5 pieces of paper each titled 'Direct Dye stuffs' for different colours which have mounted fibres attached. Notes are also included in the folder that are dated May 1946 which indicated they were made by Sawyer as a student and re-used in her teaching practice.
