Design (on front cover and spine only): in gilt, a tree emerging from undulating waves in front of a rising sun, the title in large and small serifed capitals within the tree crown; embossed, in slightly darker red, fishes swimming from right to left in the water and birds flying from right to left above and below the tree's crown, both interspersed with small circles; spine with a climbing plant, water lilies and butterflies instead of the tree, fishes and birds.
