Design in gilt: on front cover, inside a frame knotted in the corners, a knotted lattice with blackberries (or similar) in the interstices, three spaced open circles on each side, the title in hand-drawn serifed capitals in a small oblong frame with small shamrock leaves; matching spine; on the back cover a small central lattice of five berries. The publisher's advertisement at the front of vol. 1 states "The cover design ... is the work of Talwin Morris ..." (LO/C32). New edition revised and greatly extended by Katharine Tynan Hinkson.
