Vermilion cloth boards. Design in gilt (on front cover and spine only): on the front cover a ten-stemmed candelabrum embracing the royal coat of arms surmounted by a crown, the outermost pair of stems tall, rising sharply from flat bases and bearing elongated thistle heads, the next three pairs bearing roses, rising from a central stem and curving out and in again towards the royal coat of arms. The innermost pair of arms bear a shamrock. A pair of dots at the base and the words "Imperial edition" in serifed capitals on either side of the central stem. On the spine a gilt band top and bottom with roses and foliage in vermilion relief; the title and author in serifed gilt capitals, separated by a gilt candelabrum bearing leaves and one rose. Unsigned; see pub. ad. in the "New Century Geography Readers", in which the binding is described as by TM (LO/C32).
