Forest green cloth boards. Design in gilt (on front cover and spine only): facing songbirds touching a reniform or "peacock's crest" shape overlaid with a candelabrum of seven stems: in the centre a rose flanked by stems bearing seven pointed leaves; two low stems bearing roses over the reniform shape itself, the outermost pair of stems high and bearing seven pointed leaves at the outer side of the birds; the background scattered with inverted teardrops. On the spine, author or title architectural sansserif capitals punctuated with inverted teardrops, at top and bottom a motif of three roses over an inwardly bowed frame and a stylised outline heart. Unsigned (LO/C32). The first poetry series design on cloth. Second form. Grey-green endpapers signed TM, with a design of entwined stems and a scatter of roses both on the stems and on the background (LO/C32). Bookseller's label on front pastedown: Leach & Son, Wisbech LO/C32. From the collection of David Rodger LO/C32. Owner's inscription on endpaper: "Mildred A.
