Hat, part of a costume for the character of a pilgrim.

The accessory was designed by Leon Bakst for the Ballet Russes production of La Dieu Bleu (The Blue God), which opened in 1912.

The hat is shaped by a wire frame and is screen printed with green polka dots and is decorated with pearlescent sequins.

The hat formed part of a costume for a pilgrim, which also included a sash (see BRS.A.21).
